For International Women’s Day, we conducted an interview with Celjan Rozko, Vice President of Global Operations at Systematix. Celjan is a leader of one of Canada’s largest IT consulting firms. In this interview, she shares insights into her reality and the challenges she faces, particularly in an industry predominantly occupied by men.

Last Saturday, June 8, our team gathered for the Relay for Life, an event aimed at fighting cancer. This year, Systematix was particularly committed to taking action and supporting this cause. What is the Relay for Life? The Relay for Life brings together men and women who want to take action against cancer. During these events, participants of all ages unite as a community and take turns walking from 3:30 PM to midnight, symbolizing perseverance and sending a message of hope. Each team also aims to raise as many donations as possible for this important cause, which will be given to the Canadian Cancer Society.

International Women's Day was invented in 1911 in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, following labor movements advocating for equal participation of women in society. Since then, this day takes place every March 8th and is now recognized internationally. Also highlighted as 'Women's Rights Day' in some countries, this day holds great importance each year, often emphasized in various ways depending on cultures, countries, and individual perceptions. Reflecting on this annual event of International Women's Day, we wanted to gather different opinions to question the most relevant way to approach this event.

On February 22nd, Systematix eagerly participated in the ICTC Black Women Leading the Way in Canada’s Digital Economy Event in Toronto, joining over 60 like-minded individuals dedicated to advancing gender equity in the tech industry. The conference was a focal point for discussions surrounding Gender Equity in Canada’s Tech Ecosystem, featuring a riveting panel discussion specifically addressing Black Women Leadership.

On November 8th and 9th, the Systematix team in Quebec took part in the 15th anniversary of the Agility Tour; an event in which we sponsor. More than 1,000 agility-focused participants gathered at the Centre de Foires of Québec City. Participants were able to choose from over 20 sessions with more than 30 speakers covering many interesting discussions!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month came to a close with a flourish of pink, as our team joined hands to make a meaningful contribution towards the cause. We organized a delightful Pink Bake Sale, not only to raise awareness but also to provide support to survivors of breast cancer.

In order to raise awareness and inform about this important day, we organised at Systematix some activities with our team to deepen our understanding of the historical events of indigenous residential school and their lasting impact on our diverse Canadian nation. Systematix was represented by our multi-cultural team (Patrice – replaced at the last minute by Simon for injury issues, Élodie, Eduardo and Naoufal) at the Leucan ski challenge that took place on March 25 at the Stoneham ski station.
