Senior Project Manager

Systematix is currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support our client, a major Canadian insurance organization, in delivering a complex Data Center Rationalization program.

This engagement focuses on leading large-scale infrastructure and technology initiatives, ensuring successful delivery across cloud, network, platform, and data environments. The role will play a critical part in aligning technical delivery with enterprise strategy, governance, and operational readiness.

The successful consultant will work closely with program leadership, architecture, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to drive execution, manage risks, and ensure high-quality delivery across a complex, multi-vendor environment.

LOCATION & DURATION
Location: Remote within Canada (occasional on-site may be required). Must align with Saskatchewan business hours (CST)
Start Date: April 27, 2026
Duration: 11 months, with potential for extension

COMPENSATION
Senior (10+ years): $100–125/hr
Lead / Program-Level (15+ years): $125–150/hr

Compensation is commensurate with experience, skill set, and market conditions.

THE ROLE – Senior Project Manager (Infrastructure)
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of infrastructure-focused initiatives within a Data Center Rationalization program. This includes planning, execution, risk management, vendor coordination, and ensuring alignment with enterprise governance and delivery standards.

You will operate at both a strategic and execution level, helping shape initiatives early while driving disciplined delivery across cross-functional technical teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead full lifecycle delivery of complex infrastructure projects (cloud, networks, platforms, data environments, integrations)
  • Develop and manage integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, and dependencies across multiple teams
  • Partner with program leadership, architecture, and infrastructure teams to align delivery with enterprise priorities
  • Define scope, deliverables, success criteria, and acceptance conditions
  • Ensure adherence to SDLC, PMLC, and infrastructure delivery standards
  • Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders and technical teams
  • Manage vendor relationships, including system integrators and cloud providers
  • Oversee RAID management (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) and escalate as required
  • Provide clear, concise, and forward-looking executive status reporting
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies, resource planning, and delivery sequencing
  • Lead resolution of delivery blockers and complex technical issues
  • Ensure operational readiness, including environment setup, deployment planning, and transition to support
  • Support change management and adoption of new platforms and infrastructure capabilities

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of experience delivering complex IT infrastructure and technology programs
  • Proven experience managing large, interdependent project schedules involving infrastructure readiness, migrations, and integrations
  • Strong experience in risk management, governance, and executive-level reporting
  • Experience working in regulated environments with structured delivery and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-vendor and systems integrator environments
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure domains (cloud, networks, platforms, data environments)
  • Experience working within Agile, hybrid, and traditional delivery models
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level engagement

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with data center rationalization or large-scale infrastructure modernization initiatives
  • Familiarity with insurance or financial services environments
  • Experience working within enterprise PMO or portfolio governance structures
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an 11-month engagement supporting a critical infrastructure transformation program within a major Canadian organization. The selected consultant will play a key role in delivering complex initiatives, ensuring alignment across technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders. Remote anywhere in Canada aligned with Saskatchewan business hours.
