Solution Architect – Application Management

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect – Application Management to support our client, a major provincial energy utility, in designing, specifying, and guiding the delivery of enterprise application solutions that underpin critical operations across the organization. This role leads solution design, architectural oversight, and technical governance to ensure that all application-focused initiatives align with business objectives, technology standards, and enterprise architecture principles.

The Solution Architect will work across project teams, operational groups, vendor partners, and enterprise architects to define solution architectures, evaluate options, manage risk, and ensure high-quality implementation. This includes producing logical architecture models, solution specifications, and technical guidance throughout the development, testing, and deployment lifecycle.

LOCATION & WORK HOURS

• Location: Onsite – Regina, Saskatchewan
• Start Date: January 1, 2026
• End Date: January 31, 2027
• Contract Length: 13 months
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours

THE ROLE – Solution Architect (Application Management)
In this role, you will be responsible for solution architecture, logical design, system specification, and architectural governance for application-related projects. You will collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements, evaluate solution alternatives, and translate them into detailed technical designs and integration strategies.

Key responsibilities include defining end-to-end solution architectures, validating vendor or development team deliverables, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, and providing technical leadership during implementation, testing, and transition to operations.

MANDATORY EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• 8–12+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in solution architecture, application architecture, or enterprise architecture
• Proven experience developing logical architectures, integration designs, and solution specifications
• Experience guiding projects through the full SDLC (requirements ? design ? build ? test ? release)

About the Project

As part of the Digital Government for Business program’s vision to leverage modern digital and data technologies, create a seamless web and mobile experience, modernize our service delivery and make it easier for Business to access government programs and services, the client has established the DTSS Program Delivery Centre of Excellence (CoE) under the Architecture Services Directorate to support, maintain, and onboard programs onto the Salesforce platform. This CoE will require ongoing growth of Salesforce Application development expertise and state of the art application development processes and techniques.

About the Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to develop dynamic and flexible Salesforce applications to meet the client needs;
• Contribute in all phases of the Agile Software Development Lifecycle including active participation in agile scrum meetings;

About the Qualifications

• Resource must have greater than ten years’ experience within the last fifteen (15) years working as a programmer/software developer.
• Resource must have a minimum of five years’ experience developing Salesforce functionality using a minimum of 4 of following out-of-the-box features: Configuration, Workflows, Approval processes, Lightning components, Process Builder, Visual Flows, Escalation Rules, Login Flows, and/or Omniscript.
• Minimum of five years’ experience building integrations between Salesforce and external applications using one or more of the following: REST, SOAP APIs, OAuth, Single Sign-On, and APEX callouts.
