Solution Architect / Technical Lead

Systematix is currently seeking an experienced Solution Architect / Technical Lead to support our client, a major provincial energy utility, in delivering several enterprise technology initiatives across operational technology (OT), security, integration platforms, and enterprise systems.

This engagement will provide technical leadership across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring that architecture standards are followed, integrations are properly designed, and technical dependencies are accounted for in project delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and platform providers to guide the technical direction of these initiatives.

This role requires strong communication and leadership capabilities, as the consultant will be expected to participate actively in architecture discussions, contribute to design decisions, and provide technical direction across projects.

LOCATION & WORK HOURS

Location: Remote within Canada with periodic travel to Halifax, Nova Scotia for project meetings and workshops
Work Hours: Monday–Friday aligned with Atlantic / Eastern Time business hours (7.5 hrs/day)
Start Date: Targeted Q2 2026 (or sooner)
Duration: 12?month contract (with potential extension)

THE ROLE – Solution Architect / Technical Lead

As the Solution Architect / Technical Lead, you will provide architectural guidance and technical leadership across a range of enterprise technology initiatives. You will help ensure projects account for technical dependencies, integration requirements, and enterprise architecture standards.

You will also work with internal technology teams and external vendors to define configuration requirements, integration patterns, and security architecture needed to support system implementations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide solution architecture and technical leadership across multiple enterprise initiatives
  • Ensure project plans incorporate required technical dependencies and integration points
  • Define integration approaches between internal systems and vendor platforms
  • Provide guidance on connector placement, security integration, and platform configuration
  • Support integration with enterprise security platforms such as SOC, SIEM, and SSO
  • Collaborate with vendors and implementation partners to align on technical architecture
  • Develop and document solution architectures and integration patterns
  • Participate in architecture reviews and technical design discussions
  • Provide clear technical direction to project teams and stakeholders
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and best practices

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline
  • 10+ years experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or technical leadership roles
  • Experience designing and implementing complex enterprise system integrations
  • Experience leading architecture and design discussions across cross?functional teams
  • Strong experience working with vendor?delivered enterprise platforms
  • Experience designing secure integrations including SSO, identity integration, and security monitoring
  • Experience with enterprise integration platforms and middleware
  • Strong documentation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to confidently participate in technical discussions and provide architectural leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • Experience supporting energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure organizations
  • Experience working with operational technology (OT) environments
  • Experience with integration platforms such as Boomi
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms and operational management tools
  • Experience integrating systems with SOC / SIEM security platforms
  • Experience supporting identity architecture and trust frameworks
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture governance and architecture review boards

  • Solution architecture documentation for assigned initiatives
  • Technical integration designs and architecture diagrams
  • Configuration guidance for vendor implementations
  • Technical dependency mapping within project plans
  • Security integration documentation (SSO, SOC/SIEM integration)
  • Architecture alignment with enterprise standards and governance processes

PAY DISCLOSURE

Senior Solution Architect (10+ years’ experience): $100 – $125 per hour

Compensation is commensurate with experience, skills, and market conditions.
