We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a Senior Technology Architect for our client.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Our client is seeking a Senior Technology Architect to lead the design, infrastructure architecture transformation, and integration of a shared public health platform. The successful candidate will drive the development and sustainment of a comprehensive technology platform, technical strategy, and integrated architecture that supports mission-critical healthcare solutions across web, mobile, cloud, and enterprise integration environments.

Working closely with Ontario Health and major technology partners, the architect will provide strategic leadership for cloud modernization, digital health integration, infrastructure transformation, and enterprise architecture initiatives while ensuring alignment with GO-ITS, Digital Health, and Ontario Health standards.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead infrastructure architecture transformation and enterprise platform integration initiatives
• Develop and sustain comprehensive technology platforms, technical strategies, and integrated architectures
• Collaborate with healthcare stakeholders and vendor partners including cloud, middleware, and enterprise platform providers
• Define and design infrastructure, mobile, software, hardware, and network requirements
• Design, test, install, monitor, and optimize new systems and platform capabilities
• Develop architecture roadmaps and modernization strategies aligned with business objectives
• Provide technical leadership and architecture oversight for mission-critical healthcare solutions
• Identify project, technology, and strategic risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Act as senior technical advisor and coordinate vendors, consultants, and technical resources
• Develop frameworks, processes, procedures, and governance mechanisms for solution delivery
• Translate business requirements and functional specifications into technical architecture designs
• Analyze I&IT requirements and provide independent architecture recommendations
• Prepare reports, presentations, implementation plans, designs, and change management strategies
• Present architecture recommendations and progress reports to executives and stakeholders
• Provide quality assurance and quality control oversight for architecture deliverables

REQUIREMENTS:
Must-have:

• 10+ years of Technology Architecture experience
• 10+ years designing cloud solutions aligned with AWS and Azure Well-Architected Frameworks
• Experience delivering secure, resilient, scalable, and cost-optimized cloud architectures
• Hands-on experience with Amazon RDS for Oracle Multi-AZ deployments and backup/recovery frameworks
• Experience with IBM WebSphere-based applications, APIs, Oracle GoldenGate, ETL pipelines, and modern web technologies
• Strong knowledge of mobile, API, web-based, hybrid cloud, and Gen AI technologies
• Experience with PaaS and Container-as-a-Service (CaaS) technologies
• Strong knowledge of technical design and architecture principles
• Experience architecting, designing, implementing, monitoring, and tuning mission-critical systems
• Experience with JEE, JSF, JavaScript, Node.js, iOS, Android, and hybrid mobile technologies
• Experience implementing PKI, MFA, and Single Sign-On solutions
• Hands-on HL7 FHIR implementation experience
• Knowledge of HL7 V2, V3, CDA, IHE-XDS/SCR, SNOMED-CT, and LOINC
• Experience collaborating with architecture and development teams
• Strong technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning experience

Nice-to-have:

• 5+ years working with public sector healthcare organizations
• Knowledge of Public Sector Enterprise Architecture artifacts and processes
• Knowledge of Ontario Health technology landscape and Digital Health standards
• Knowledge of Client, Provider, Consent, and User Registries
• Knowledge of Ontario Health HIAL and Blueprints
• Knowledge of Master Data Management solutions in healthcare
• Experience with healthcare domains including Immunization, Pharmacy, Laboratory, and Drug systems
• Knowledge of Ministry policy and project approval processes
• Knowledge of Public Sector TRA and Architecture Processes

KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER:

• Provide ongoing knowledge transfer to project teams and operational staff
• Document architecture decisions, standards, integration patterns, and operational procedures
• Support transition planning and long-term operational sustainability

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Location: Onsite – 5700 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario
Duration: July 6, 2026 – July 2, 2027
Work Model: 5 days onsite (7.25 hours/day)
Security Clearance: CRJMC

PAY DISCLOSURE:
The average hourly pay range for this field is as follows:

• Junior: $110–$120/hr
• Intermediate: $120–$126/hr
• Senior: $126–$129.98/hr

Compensation is commensurate with these standards; exceptions may apply based on experience, healthcare architecture expertise, cloud architecture experience, certifications, and market conditions.
