We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a Senior IT Systems Engineers to support the design, implementation, and ongoing modernization of enterprise Microsoft infrastructure for one of our Medical Technology partners.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
Our client is a global leader in science and technology, supporting critical business operations across a highly distributed global enterprise. As part of its ongoing investment in modernizing enterprise IT services, the organization is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineers to help design, implement, and support its Microsoft infrastructure, endpoint management, and identity services.

The successful candidates will play a key role in maintaining a secure, scalable, and highly available enterprise environment while supporting strategic modernization initiatives across Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory, Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM), and endpoint management platforms. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and collaborating across IT disciplines.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, implement, and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Purview, and related technologies.
• Administer and maintain hybrid and on-premises Microsoft Exchange environments, including migrations, mail flow, transport rules, and security configurations.
• Manage Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM) for software deployment, operating system imaging, patch management, compliance baselines, and endpoint administration.
• Administer Active Directory, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), identity management, Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Conditional Access policies.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate system administration, reporting, and operational processes.
• Standardize endpoint configurations through Group Policy, Intune device configuration policies, and configuration baselines.
• Support and administer enterprise applications managed by the Infrastructure Systems team.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity teams to ensure enterprise systems meet performance, reliability, compliance, and security requirements.
• Provide Tier 3 technical support for complex infrastructure issues and mentor junior engineers and service desk staff.
• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, technology lifecycle management, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity initiatives.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, system architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and configuration standards.
• Participate in an on-call support rotation and provide after-hours support when required.
• Support additional infrastructure projects and initiatives as assigned.

ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of enterprise IT infrastructure experience with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies.
• Extensive experience supporting Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Purview, and related services.
• Strong experience administering hybrid and on-premises Microsoft Exchange environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM) for software deployment, patch management, operating system deployment, and endpoint administration.
• Strong experience with Active Directory, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Windows Server, and enterprise identity management.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting skills for automation and systems management.
• Experience implementing and supporting endpoint management, mobile device management, and enterprise security baselines.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting complex enterprise infrastructure environments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified, or other Microsoft infrastructure certifications.
• Experience with endpoint management platforms such as Automox, Patch My PC, Lansweeper, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001, or SOX.
• Experience using Jira or similar IT service management and project tracking tools.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise infrastructure modernization initiatives.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a remote contract opportunity supporting a large-scale enterprise infrastructure modernization program.  Candidates must be willing to work collaboratively across North American time zones and, as business needs require, adjust their working hours to support teams operating in both Pacific and Eastern Time zones.  Participation in an on-call support rotation and occasional after-hours maintenance activities is required.
