We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a Senior Business Analyst for our client.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Our client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support the Project Management & Program Delivery project team within a large public sector transportation environment. The role will work collaboratively with project teams, solution delivery vendors, and stakeholders to support the design, implementation, testing, and modernization of complex digital and legacy business solutions.

The successful resource will contribute across the full Software Development Life Cycle, supporting feasibility analysis, requirements management, process and data analysis, sprint planning, testing support, architecture governance deliverables, and knowledge transfer activities. This role supports both agile and waterfall delivery methodologies in highly integrated public sector systems environments.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide support during the design, implementation, and testing phases of projects
• Conduct feasibility analysis, project scoping, and provide project work estimates
• Lead and participate in Joint Requirements Planning (JRP) and Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions
• Analyze and map current-state and future-state business processes and data flows
• Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, validation, and documentation activities
• Develop and maintain business cases, system requirements specifications, business rules, process models, use cases, and traceability matrices
• Document user stories, product backlogs, sprint plans, and functional and non-functional requirements
• Develop low and high-fidelity prototypes and user interface specifications
• Support development and testing teams through test planning, test strategy reviews, defect management, and user acceptance testing activities
• Document and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation strategies
• Support architecture governance deliverables and enterprise architecture review requirements
• Report assignment progress regularly to Project Management and raise issues or concerns with proposed mitigation strategies
• Provide knowledge transfer to project teams and stakeholders throughout all assignment stages

REQUIREMENTS:
Must-have:

• 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in large, complex enterprise environments
• Strong experience writing high-quality business cases and navigating governance approval processes
• Experience documenting functional and non-functional requirements, system requirements specifications, business process models, business rules, use cases, test plans, and traceability matrices
• Experience with requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, validation, and backlog management
• Demonstrated experience with SDLC methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and iterative delivery
• Strong experience facilitating JAD sessions, sprint reviews, and stakeholder workshops
• Experience working with legacy infrastructure environments, including mainframe and mid-tier systems
• Experience with Oracle Siebel or similar Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) implementations
• Experience using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, HP ALM (Quality Center), and PowerDesigner
• Experience with UML tools, business object-oriented modeling, and process analysis
• Knowledge of Public Sector Digital Service Standards and Architecture Governance processes
• Strong communication, analytical, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Knowledge of accessibility standards including AODA and user-centric digital design principles

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Microsoft Power BI
• Experience supporting Digital First strategies and digital assessment submissions
• Experience creating mock-ups, prototypes, and user-centric design artefacts
• Knowledge of licensing, registration, permit, inspection, fraud prevention, or enforcement-related public sector services
• Experience working with public sector architecture, governance, and delivery frameworks
• Experience supporting large-scale transformation or modernization initiatives

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Location: Onsite – 87 Sir William Hearst Ave., Toronto, Ontario M3M 0B4 / 301 St Paul St, St. Catharines, ON L2R 3M8
Duration: June 1, 2026 – May 27, 2027
Work hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (7.5 hours/day)
Security level: No clearance required

PAY DISCLOSURE:
The average hourly pay range for this field is as follows:

• Junior: $74–$82/hr
• Intermediate: $82–$88/hr
• Senior: $88–$93/hr

Compensation is commensurate with these standards; exceptions may apply based on experience, skills, and market conditions.
