Cloud Systems Administrator

We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a Cloud Systems Administrator for our client.

 

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

 

Our client is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator to support and optimize a cloud-first Microsoft environment. This role bridges identity management, cloud operations, end-user productivity, and AI-enabled collaboration by administering Microsoft 365 services, enforcing data governance and compliance through Microsoft Purview, and maintaining core Azure infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with IT leadership, security teams, and end users to ensure Microsoft cloud platforms remain resilient, compliant, secure, and optimized for organizational productivity.

 

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

In this role, you will administer and support Microsoft 365 and Azure services while contributing to identity governance, security, compliance, cloud operations, and AI-enabled collaboration initiatives. You will work closely with infrastructure, security, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable cloud services and effective governance across the Microsoft ecosystem.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

Must-have:
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
• Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), identity management, licensing, MFA, conditional access, and hybrid identity
• Experience supporting on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra Connect synchronization
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS), certificate template configuration, autoenrollment, and PKI concepts
• Experience with SCEP/NDES and certificate deployment to managed endpoints through Microsoft Intune
• Experience administering Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft 365 tenant services
• Working knowledge of hybrid Exchange environments, including hybrid mail flow and mailbox migrations
• Experience administering Azure virtual machines, networking, storage, resource groups, and identity and access management
• Experience with Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Microsoft Purview (DLP, retention, information protection, and data governance), and cloud security best practices
• Proficiency with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API (including Graph PowerShell SDK) for automation, scripting, bulk administration, and reporting
• Experience administering and governing Microsoft Power Platform environments and DLP connector policies
• Experience supporting Microsoft Copilot governance, adoption monitoring, access controls, data protection considerations, and Copilot agent lifecycle management
• Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and Azure cost management tools
• Experience working within ITIL-based or similar IT service management frameworks
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Microsoft 365, Azure, and identity platforms
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• University degree, college diploma, or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline

 

Nice-to-have:
• Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, AZ-104, or SC-300
• Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience with mail security products
• Experience managing Microsoft and third-party vendor support cases

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

 

Location: Concord, Ontario (Hybrid)

 

Duration: 6-month contract to start

 

Work hours: Standard business hours with occasional after-hours work to support maintenance windows, security patching, and incident response activities

 

PAY DISCLOSURE:

 

The average hourly contract pay range for this field is as follows:

• Intermediate: 6–9 years of experience — $60–$75/hr
• Senior: 10+ years of experience — $75–$90hr

 

Compensation is commensurate with these standards; exceptions may apply based on experience, skills, certifications, and market conditions.
