We are Systematix and we are currently looking for two Systems Administrators to manage and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure including Microsoft 365, VMware, and Veeam.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Our client requires two experienced Systems Administrators to support a dynamic IT environment based in Markham, Ontario. The infrastructure includes Microsoft 365, VMware, and Veeam for backups. The administrators will play a vital role in ensuring system availability, performance, and security, while providing strong internal user support. This is a contract role, with full-time on-site work required to start, moving to a hybrid arrangement. There is strong potential for extension or conversion to permanent roles.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Planning:
Collaborate with IT leadership to develop long-term strategies for system scalability and security.
Acquisition & Deployment:
Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to implement hardware and software solutions that align with organizational objectives.
Operational Management:
Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 services, VMware environments, and Veeam backups.
Provide internal support for hardware, software, and networking issues.
Monitor and optimize system performance, applying patches and updates for compliance and security.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Contract, Full-Time
Based in Markham, Ontario (on-site 5 days/week to start, moving to hybrid)
Some travel to Ottawa may be required
Occasional after-hours support may be necessary
ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
7-10+ years of experience in system administration, including M365, VMware, and Veeam.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols, security, and system integration.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Certifications:
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
