DEVICE SOLUTION ARCHITECT

We’re currently seeking a skilled and experienced DEVICE SOLUTION ARCHITECT to support our client, SaskPower, in a senior-level role within their SaskPower Nuclear subsidiary. This position is key to the design and development of SaskNuclear’s Azure-based IT environment, with a focus on virtual device infrastructure. The successful candidate will help shape secure, scalable solutions that support the deployment and management of virtual devices within a modernized Azure ecosystem — ensuring alignment with SaskPower’s broader goals for digital transformation, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance in a highly complex utility landscape.
LOCATION & WORK HOURS:
•Location: Services will be preferred onsite in Regina, Saskatchewan.
•Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST.
REQUIREMENTS
•    7+ years of relevant IT experience, including 3–5 years specifically in device management, virtualization, or Azure-based environments.
•    Azure Certifications related to Virtual Networks are preferred.
•    Hands-on experience in the setup and deployment of Windows 365 virtual desktops.
•    Proven expertise in managing device compliance using Intune and integrating with endpoint protection solutions such as Microsoft Defender.
•    The Device Management Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all virtual desktops and devices are fully compliant with Intune policies and secured in alignment with best practices.
DELIVERABLES
Responsibilities:
The Device Management Engineer will be responsible for the setup and management of Windows 365 virtual desktops, enforcement of device compliance using Intune, and integration with Microsoft Defender for endpoint protection. This role ensures all virtual desktops and devices are properly secured and fully aligned with Intune compliance policies.
Key Deliverables:
•    Deployment and ongoing management of Windows 365 virtual desktops
•    Configuration and enforcement of device compliance policies via Microsoft Intune
•    Implementation and integration of Microsoft Defender for comprehensive endpoint protection
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This is a one-year contract role with the possibility of extension, commencing May 1, 2025. The position is onsite in Regina, Saskatchewan, with standard working hours of Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CST).

NETWORK SOLUTION ARCHITECT

This position is critical to the design and development of SaskNuclear’s Azure-based IT environment, with a specific focus on network architecture and connectivity. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering secure, high-performance, and scalable network solutions within the Azure cloud, enabling resilient connectivity across the organization’s virtual infrastructure. This role will ensure alignment with SaskPower’s strategic objectives for digital transformation, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance in a complex, highly governed utility environment.

REQUIREMENTS
• 7+ years of relevant IT experience, including 3–5 years in network architecture and cloud-based networking.
• Azure Certifications related to Virtual Networks, security, or cloud infrastructure are preferred.
• Hands-on experience with the configuration and deployment of Azure Virtual Networks (VNets).
• Proven experience in configuring and managing Azure Firewall, network security groups (NSGs), and related controls.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement secure connectivity solutions between on-premises environments and Azure, ensuring efficient and secure traffic flow.
• Strong understanding of hybrid cloud networking, VPN gateways, ExpressRoute, and network segmentation best practices.
DELIVERABLES
Responsibilities:

The Network Solution Architect is responsible for designing and configuring network components within SaskNuclear’s Azure environment. This includes the implementation of Azure Virtual Networks, Azure Firewall, and secure hybrid connectivity to ensure reliable, efficient, and protected communication between on-premises systems and Azure-hosted resources.
Key Deliverables:
• Design and deployment of Azure Virtual Network (VNet) architecture
• Configuration and tuning of Azure Firewall and related security controls
• Implementation of secure, high-performance connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and Azure (e.g., VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute)
• Documentation of network configurations and security best practices to support compliance and operational readiness

The successful candidate will play a key role in architecting secure, scalable solutions within Azure DevOps, enabling efficient infrastructure delivery and alignment with SaskPower’s strategic vision for digital transformation and operational excellence.

THE ROLE – Solution Architect – Infrastructure
We are seeking a highly skilled Azure DevOps Engineer / Azure Solution Architect to assist with the design and development of the SaskNuclear Azure IT Environment—a critical part of SaskPower’s infrastructure modernization strategy. This role will focus on implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and building automated deployment pipelines to support a consistent, secure, and scalable Azure environment.
REQUIREMENTS
•    Proven experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform.
•    Strong expertise in automating deployment pipelines, ensuring consistency, repeatability, and security across all environments.
•    Demonstrated ability to architect and implement Azure solutions aligned with enterprise-grade cloud strategies.
•    Must be capable of working in a highly regulated, complex utility environment, adhering to strict compliance and operational standards.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
•    Hands-on experience managing the full suite of Azure DevOps tools, including Pipelines, Repos, and Boards.
•    Proven track record with CI/CD implementation, infrastructure deployment automation, and agile delivery practices.
•    Familiarity with Zero Trust security models, cloud governance, and infrastructure monitoring best practices.
•    Ability to collaborate with Cloud Architects, Security Engineers, and cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
DELIVERABLES
Responsibilities:
•    Manage Azure DevOps tools (Pipelines, Repos, Boards) to enforce robust CI/CD practices.
•    Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automate deployment pipelines to ensure repeatability, consistency, and compliance.
•    Integrate security, compliance, and disaster recovery features directly into infrastructure deployment processes.
•    Collaborate with internal teams to build, test, and optimize cloud-based infrastructure components.
Key Deliverables:
•    Fully automated Azure deployment pipelines using Azure Pipelines.
•    Reusable IaC scripts and templates for consistent infrastructure deployment.
•    CI/CD processes to streamline application updates and infrastructure changes.
•    Set up and maintain Azure DevOps Repositories and Boards.
•    Integrate security and compliance checks into pipelines.
•    Develop and maintain automated testing for infrastructure deployments.
•    Enable monitoring and alerting capabilities for deployed resources.
•    Automate deployment of Zero Trust policies and security postures.
•    Design and implement rollback strategies and disaster recovery within CI/CD processes.
•    Document pipeline configurations, deployment strategies, and best practices.
•    Continuously optimize pipelines for performance and scalability.
