Senior Power BI Data Modeler

We are Systematix and we are looking for a Senior Power BI Data Modeler to support our client in building and optimizing a scalable semantic data model for service-based revenue reporting.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
Our client, a global life sciences organization, is undertaking the development and optimization of a semantic data model to support a Service Contract solution. This engagement will focus on transforming a manual, Excel-based revenue recognition process into a scalable, automated Power BI semantic model. The solution will leverage data from an Azure-based data warehouse environment sourced from Oracle EBS and will play a critical role in improving financial reporting accuracy, auditability, and scalability.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and build a robust Power BI semantic model to replace existing manual Excel-based revenue recognition processes
• Translate finance-driven logic related to service contract revenue recognition into scalable data models and DAX calculations
• Work closely with Finance stakeholders to interpret existing manual models and business rules
• Integrate and model data from an Azure Data Warehouse environment sourced from Oracle EBS
• Develop and optimize complex data models including relationships, calculations, and performance tuning
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and auditability of financial reporting outputs
• Create reporting structures and dashboards to support visibility into service contract revenue
• Support future enhancements including forecasting capabilities and ongoing model scalability
• Document data models, assumptions, and business logic for both technical and non-technical stakeholders

ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS

• Expert-level experience with Power BI, specifically semantic modeling and dataset design
• Strong experience building and optimizing complex data models including star schema design and performance tuning
• Advanced proficiency in DAX and Power BI data architecture
• Experience working with ERP data, with Oracle EBS strongly preferred (SAP or similar acceptable)
• Strong experience translating financial or business logic into scalable data models
• Experience working directly with Finance teams and supporting financial reporting processes
• Ability to operate hands-on while also contributing at an architectural level
• Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business stakeholders
• Experience working within Azure data environments is preferred

Duration: 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension.
Location: Remote
