We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a FinOps Transformation Consultant to support a global enterprise in establishing a FinOps capability across a decentralized, multi-operating company environment.
ABOUT THE PROJECT Our client is undertaking a Software Asset Management (SAM) and cloud cost optimization initiative aimed at improving visibility, governance, and value realization across technology spend. This engagement will focus on translating fragmented financial and usage data into actionable insights, enabling cost optimization, and driving adoption of FinOps practices across multiple operating companies.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Define and implement a practical FinOps operating model aligned to business priorities
Assess current cloud and software spend across operating companies and identify optimization opportunities
Establish cost visibility, allocation models, and reporting frameworks across AWS, Azure, and SaaS environment
Partner with SAM and procurement teams to align software licensing, vendor strategy, and consumption models
Drive cost optimization initiatives including rightsizing, license rationalization, and vendor consolidation
Support implementation and adoption of FinOps and SAM tools such as ServiceNow, Flexera, Cloudability or equivalen
Translate technical usage and financial data into clear, actionable insights for IT and finance stakeholders
Establish governance mechanisms including showback and chargeback models and cost accountability structures
Advise and guide internal teams on best practices, implementation approaches, and common pitfalls
Support stakeholder alignment across IT, Finance, Procurement, and operating company leadership
ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS
8+ years of experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, or IT cost optimization
Proven experience implementing FinOps practices in complex, multi-entity or federated organizations
Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP cost management and optimization
Experience with Software Asset Management (SAM) and related tools such as Flexera, ServiceNow, or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable cost savings and improved financial transparency
Strong analytical capabilities with experience working with large, complex datasets including advanced Excel; SQL or Python is an asset
Ability to operate independently and drive outcomes in ambiguous, evolving environments
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence without direct authority
ABOUT THE ROLE
6 month remote contract engagement with potential for extension
This is a hands-on transformation role requiring both strategic thinking and execution capability
The consultant will be expected to quickly assess the current state, define a clear path forward, and drive tangible outcomes
Success in this role will be measured by the ability to deliver cost optimization, improve financial visibility, and establish sustainable FinOps practices that can scale across the organization
AI DISCLOSURE This role may involve exposure to systems and tools that incorporate artificial intelligence. Candidates should be comfortable working in environments where AI-enabled tools support business processes.
