System Analyst

We are Systematix and we are looking for a System Analyst for an upcoming opportunity with a public sector client. This contract is expected to start in October and last until April 2026. The ideal candidate must possess a Reliability level security clearance.

About the Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and oversee the design and implementation of enhancements to various systems, including workflows and forms, in support of core organizational functions. Create or update technical documentation (workflow actions, custom scripts, web service calls). Responsible for ensuring that the technical architecture is followed and that services necessary to meet the changing needs of the organization are implemented and maintained.
  • Provide technical support, guidance, advice, and participates in the areas of scheduling, technical direction, future planning, and standard development practices.
  • Coordinates system analysis, application development and testing activities through direct and indirect staff.
  • Work in an Agile team of system analysts to deliver bug/fixes, operational enhancements, and new functionality to existing in house software.
  • Translate business requirements into viable technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with other infrastructure groups within the organization
  • Use best practices and coding standards. Ensure implementations follow proper corporate design, development and deployment standards and adhere to corporate security policies.
  • Collaborate with Testing team for testing of overall technical solution.
  • Ensure all changes are developed in a secure source control process, allowing for deployment and rollback of releases where necessary.
  • Define levels of security/access control required for technical solution within and across non-production environments.
  • Leads/Assists in the deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications, utilizing modern DevSecOps practices
  • Reviews and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  • Support go-live activities to transition to Production.
  • Perform knowledge transfer to Solution Support team to ensure product sustainability.
  • Collaborate with Solutions Support team(s) and contribute to Level 3 Support activities for Incident and Problem resolution as required.
  • Design, develop, test, and deliver complex software features aligned with product requirements.
  • Ensure code is scalable, maintainable, and meets performance benchmarks.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and design reviews.
  • Deliver comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Create or enhance CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable deployments and faster feedback loops.
  • Take ownership of feature delivery from design to release.
  • Break down tasks, estimate effort, and ensure timely completion.

About the Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience knowledge and experience in c#, building APIs, Azure and Terraform.
  • 3+ years’ experience in IT systems development, full software agile lifecycle or related experience.

Assets:

  • Experience working as part of an Agile team with Business Subject Matter Expert, Business Analyst, Solution Architect, Tester, Scrum Master, Product Owner.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office 365 skills especially Excel.
  • Working with 3rd party vendors and integrating applications.
  • Experience with automated and/or manual testing.
  • Ability to operate under structured release management frameworks, including the need for various environments, system maintenance, risk avoidance, etc.
  • Must be business results oriented. Strong ability to translate business questions and requirements into technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical ability with demonstrated application of technical problem solving and analytical tools and techniques. Ability to identify issues and risks and provide options analysis.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in an Insurance or Financial Services environment is an asset, but not essential.
  • Experience with Financial Crimes Risk Management is an asset, but not essential.
