Snowflake Data Engineer
We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a Snowflake Data Engineer to join our team on a contract basis.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Our client is a global leader in science and technology, providing a breadth of expertise and solutions to customers worldwide. In this role, you will bring your expertise in Snowflake and cloud-based data platforms to join our team. You will come with a proven track record in designing, building and optimizing data solutions that enable analytics and insight generation across the organization.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITES
- Contribute to the migration of ETL processes from Snowflake to Palantir, including analysis of existing pipelines, design of new solutions, and comprehensive documentation
- Build and maintain a Snowflake data platform, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability
- Design, implement, and maintain integration and analytics solutions to support key business processes and decision-making.
- Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, and data scientists to deliver end-to-end data solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and security throughout the full data lifecycle.
ABOUT THE REQUIRED SKILLS
- 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a related field.
- Expert-level knowledge of Snowflake, including performance tuning and analytical solution design.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and related cloud-based services.
- Strong SQL and Python skills, including query optimization and automation of ETL/ELT processes.
- Solid understanding of data modeling techniques (3NF, Data Vault, Kimball, and modern data stack methodologies).
- Familiarity with modern data architecture concepts such as Data Mesh and Data Fabric.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
- Proven ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Prior experience with dbt, Matillion or Palantir is a strong asset
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a 6-month remote contract, with the possibility of occasional travel to DC. This project will be performed remotely in the Eastern time zone.
