We’re seeking an experienced SAP Business Warehouse (BW) Developer to support our client, a major provincial energy utility, in the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-wide SAP data warehousing solutions. This role focuses on SAP BW/4HANA, data modeling, ETL processes, and business reporting integration to enable advanced analytics and informed decision-making across the organization.

Location & Work Hours

Location: Onsite – Regina, Saskatchewan
Start/End: November 1, 2025 – March 31, 2028 (29 months)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST

Mandatory Education & Experience

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in SAP Business Warehouse (BW) or BW/4HANA development.
• Demonstrated expertise in data modeling, ETL design, and data extraction from SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Strong understanding of SAP ECC and S/4HANA integration with BW.
• Proven experience in building and optimizing InfoObjects, DataSources, InfoProviders, CompositeProviders, and Advanced DSOs.
• Hands-on experience with BEx Queries, Analysis for Office, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) integration.
• Familiarity with HANA SQL scripting, data loading performance tuning, and process chains.
• Experience working within large, complex enterprise environments (energy/utilities/government preferred).

Desired Certifications

• SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP BW/4HANA or equivalent certification.
• ITIL 4 Foundation (asset).
• PMI or PRINCE2 certification (asset).

Preferred Experience

• In-depth knowledge of SAP BW/4HANA architecture and migration strategies.
• Experience with data governance, data quality frameworks, and master data management (MDM).
• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA embedded analytics and SAP DataSphere (formerly Data Warehouse Cloud).
• Proficiency with ABAP programming for BW enhancements (e.g., user exits, routines).
• Strong experience collaborating with functional teams (FI/CO, IS-U, PM, MM) to deliver integrated reporting solutions.
• Familiarity with SAP Fiori-based reporting interfaces and SAC dashboards.
• Proven ability to analyze complex business data requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.

Key Deliverables

• Development of end-to-end SAP BW/4HANA solutions, including data models, ETL processes, and reports.
• Design and maintenance of data extraction and transformation routines from SAP and third-party systems.
• Creation of comprehensive technical documentation for BW objects, data flows, and reporting solutions.
• Optimization of data loading and query performance through advanced BW and HANA techniques.
• Participation in testing cycles (unit, integration, UAT) and cutover activities.
• Delivery of knowledge transfer sessions to internal analytics and support teams.

About the Role

This 29-month onsite contract is integral to the client’s enterprise analytics modernization program, ensuring robust, scalable, and reliable SAP BW/4HANA solutions. The SAP BW Developer will collaborate closely with SAP functional and infrastructure teams to enhance business intelligence and reporting capabilities across all operational areas. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive, capable of translating business requirements into high-performing data warehouse designs.
