ABOUT THE PROJECT: Our client is seeking a Senior Technology Architect to provide architecture, engineering, and strategy support for Cloud Access Security Platforms and Proactive Risk Management pillars of the Cyber Security Strategy. This role supports Ontario Government SSE, SASE, and network security modernization initiatives, including the implementation, support, and continued improvement of security technology platforms across multiple environments and operating system types.
The role will focus on security architecture, network security modernization, integration support, operational support, deployment coordination, change management, and technical documentation for new and existing SASE and network-security technologies. Key platforms include Palo Alto Prisma Access, Radware Web Application Firewall (WAF), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), firewall policy management, and cloud infrastructure network architecture.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES: In this role, you will provide lead architecture and strategy guidance for secure, enterprise-scale network-security platforms while supporting implementation, operations, documentation, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with internal security teams, external partners, and product vendors to ensure security platforms align with organizational priorities, cyber strategy, and operational requirements.
Provide lead architecture and strategy guidance for Ontario Government SSE and network security modernization projects.
Assist with the implementation and support of SSE technology platforms across multiple environments and varying operating system types.
Apply strong knowledge of MITRE and SSE development and configuration to security architecture and platform support activities.
Provide operational support, deployment coordination, change management, and documentation for new and existing SASE security technologies.
Work with Security teams, external partners, and vendors to engineer and support SASE platforms aligned with organizational and strategic goals.
Engage vendors of supported products to report issues, support research, and manage issues through to resolution.
Create documentation that supports operational processes and procedures during business-impacting incidents or issues.
Provide integration support and development effort for design changes and new business requirements related to network-security platforms.
Develop, recommend, implement, and manage technical architecture across hardware, software, database, and communications components in a large, distributed, cross-platform environment.
Identify relevant information and determine appropriate environments for solution development and implementation.
Provide engineering and operational support for network-security focused projects and support continued improvements across Palo Alto Prisma Access, Radware WAF, and CASB platforms.
REQUIREMENTS: Must-have:
Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Palo Alto Prisma Access.
Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Radware Web Application Firewall (WAF).
Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) technologies.
Strong experience with firewall policy management.
Strong experience with cloud infrastructure network architecture, including cloud security groups and network access control lists.
Leadership experience developing and implementing technical security architectures.
Extensive experience with enterprise security services, identity technologies, database technologies, and network access protocols.
Experience developing solution design and architecture documents, including requirements gathering, conceptual design, detailed design, and engineering implementation support.
Experience with TOGAF Architectural Framework and solution design documentation frameworks.
Experience working on Agile project delivery teams, including backlog, user stories, Scrum, and sprint-based delivery.
Experience with systems analysis and design in large, secure solution environments.
Experience translating business requirements into solution needs and security platform design requirements.
Nice-to-have:
Previous public sector work experience.
Knowledge and experience designing ITIL-aligned processes and guiding others using ITIL practices.
Experience preparing conceptual, logical, and/or physical process and data models.
Awareness of emerging technologies, trends, and directions in cybersecurity, cloud security, and network modernization.
Knowledge and understanding of Information Management security principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Strong team orientation with a track record of meeting deadlines.

PAY DISCLOSURE: The average hourly pay range for this field is as follows:
Junior: 0-5 years of experience – $100-$112/hr
Intermediate: 6-9 years of experience – $112-$121/hr
Senior: 10+ years of experience – $121-$125.64/hr
