Senior IT Enterprise Architect/Strategist
We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a Senior IT Enterprise Architect / Strategist for our client.
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Our client is seeking a Senior IT Enterprise Architect / Strategist to support enterprise-wide architecture modernization, strategic technology planning, and digital transformation initiatives within a large public sector environment. This role focuses on developing and implementing Enterprise Architecture strategies, standards, frameworks, and roadmaps that align technology investments with organizational objectives.
Working across multiple programs and delivery initiatives, the successful candidate will provide architecture leadership, technology assessments, fit-gap analyses, modernization guidance, and strategic direction to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards, governance requirements, and long-term technology objectives.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, recommend, implement, and manage Enterprise Architecture strategies and architecture deliverables
- Provide architecture support to delivery teams across multiple projects and modernization initiatives
- Conduct technology assessments, fit-gap analyses, and solution evaluations to identify optimal approaches
- Create and maintain enterprise architecture roadmaps aligned with business and technology objectives
- Develop and contribute to enterprise architecture standards, policies, templates, guidance, and best practices
- Support enterprise-wide modernization strategies and identify opportunities for technology standardization
- Define business and technical capabilities, operating models, and supporting processes
- Provide strategic guidance on operationalizing business strategies through systems, data, and technology
- Identify technology risks and recommend mitigation strategies
- Support the development of enterprise-wide technology stacks, platforms, products, frameworks, and reusable patterns
- Analyze application landscapes to improve performance, reduce redundancy, and optimize technology investments
- Collaborate with stakeholders, executives, delivery teams, and vendors to support enterprise architecture initiatives
- Present architecture recommendations, briefing materials, and strategic advice to technical and non-technical audiences
- Support governance reviews and ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards and target-state architecture
REQUIREMENTS:
Must-have:
- 15+ years of architecture experience across multiple enterprise technology platforms
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing Enterprise Architecture strategies and frameworks
- Strong knowledge of Enterprise Architecture, Technology Architecture, and Application Architecture principles
- Experience supporting enterprise modernization and digital transformation initiatives
- Experience conducting technology assessments, fit-gap analyses, and architecture evaluations
- Experience developing architecture roadmaps, standards, templates, and governance artefacts
- Ability to define business and technical capabilities and supporting processes
- Experience aligning technology strategies with business vision and organizational objectives
- Experience identifying technology risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies
- Strong understanding of enterprise platforms, products, technology stacks, and composable architecture approaches
- Experience creating enterprise standards, policies, frameworks, and governance models
- Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, presentation, communication, negotiation, and consulting skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business and executive stakeholders
- Experience working within large-scale enterprise or government environments
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge and experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy and architecture
- Experience with enterprise-wide transformation programs
- Experience creating briefing notes and executive presentations
- Experience working with external vendors and strategic partners
- Project Management experience
- Experience supporting enterprise architecture governance committees
- Knowledge of public sector technology standards and modernization initiatives
- Experience developing reference architectures and reusable enterprise patterns
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Location: Onsite – 222 Jarvis Street, Toronto, Ontario
Duration: June 22, 2026 – December 31, 2026
Work hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (7.5 hours/day)
Work model: 5 days onsite
Security level: No Clearance Required
PAY DISCLOSURE:
The average hourly pay range for this field is as follows:
- Junior: $112–$124/hr
- Intermediate: $124–$133/hr
- Senior: $133–$139.80/hr
Compensation is commensurate with these standards; exceptions may apply based on experience, skills, enterprise architecture expertise, and market conditions.
