Senior Project Manager
We are Systematix and we are looking for a Senior Project Manager for an upcoming opportunity with a public sector client. This contract is expected to start in November and last until November 2026. The ideal candidate must possess a Reliability level security clearance.
About the Project
The client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support a high-performing, cross-functional squad dedicated to help us execute the data strategy and digital roadmap. The Senior Project Manager Service Provider coordinates with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to align project goals with business objectives, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery within budget. With a strong focus on governance, compliance, and operational excellence, the Senior Project Manager service provider plays a critical role in advancing Enterprise Data Solutions and Technology (EDOT) led transformation initiatives.
About the Responsibilities
- Project Leadership & Execution
- Oversee one or multiple end-to-end delivery of data modernization projects assigned.
- Develop comprehensive project plans that align business requirements with organizational goals, ensuring timely execution within scope and budget
- Planning & Governance
- Support Annual and Quarterly dept wide planning
- Define and manage program/project roadmaps that support long-term business goals
- Establish governance and performance metrics to ensure accountability and transparency
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including the client’s internal teams and external vendors/partners to ensure alignment and successful outcomes
- Facilitate clear and timely communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Risk & Compliance Management
- Help manage risks and cross team dependencies, escalate and track impediments
- Lead post-mortem reviews to identify lessons learned and improve future project delivery
- Technical Oversight & Integration
- Coordinate technical teams to implement scalable and resilient data solutions
- Ensure integration of data components with enterprise systems such as Azure, cybersecurity platforms, etc.
- Operational Readiness & Support
- Ensure data solution readiness including testing, resiliency planning, and alignment with data governance standards
About the Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with a focus on technology projects.
Strong Proficiency in:
- Resource planning, Scheduling, requirements gathering, Process improvements.
- Agile/Scrum.
- Confident decision making.
- Design and development.
- Project management methodologies and tools.
- Project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, ADO, ServiceNow platform).
Other Skills Required:
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Ability to create, manage, and optimize budgets, experience with cost control and financial reporting
Assets:
- Experience working in: Technology, Data and Information Management, financial services; federal crown corporation.
- Strong knowledge of Data ecosystems, ex: Knowledge of ITIL, IT Service Management and IT Operations. Knowledge of data analytics platforms such as PowerBI, SAS Viya, Informatica MDM, SQL Server, Azure Databricks, Infosphere, etc.
- Complex stakeholder management.
- Proficiency in risk management: ability to identify and assess risk and develop mitigation strategies.
- Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle, Agile principles, the Scrum Framework and Kanban.
- Knowledge of Azure Dev Ops (ADO)
- Bilingual in both official languages (English and French)
- Knowledge of Planview Portfolios AgilePlace
- Project Management or Scrum Master certification (e.g. DASSM, PMP, PMI)
