SAP Functional Consultant
We’re seeking an experienced SAP Functional Consultant to support our client, a major provincial energy utility, in advancing enterprise-wide SAP business processes across finance, work management, and utility operations. This role emphasizes SAP solution design, integration across modules, regulatory compliance, and the enablement of enterprise transformation initiatives.
Location & Work Hours
- Location: Regina, Saskatchewan
- Start/End: Nov 1, 2025 – October 31, 2029 (48 months)
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST
- Availability: Remote or onsite. For remote possible periodic site visits.
Requirements
Mandatory Education & Experience
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 8–10+ years’ progressive SAP experience with a strong focus on SAP IS-U, FI/CO, and Work Management modules.
- Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end SAP functional design, blueprinting, configuration, and testing.
- Hands-on experience with SAP business process integration (finance, work management, billing, HR).
- Proven ability to work in large, complex organizations (utilities/energy/government preferred).
- Strong familiarity with regulatory compliance in utility operations.
- Track record of requirements gathering, functional specifications, and solution documentation.
Desired Certifications
- SAP Certified Application Associate (IS-U, FI/CO, or relevant functional modules).
- ITIL 4 Foundation (asset).
- PMI or equivalent project management certification (asset).
Preferred Experience
- Utility/energy sector SAP experience (IS-U billing, finance, asset/work management).
- Expertise with SAP integration points (e.g., HR, PM, MM, and external vendor systems).
- Business process optimization and alignment with industry best practices.
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA migration and transformation projects.
- Experience providing functional input to RFP/RFS processes, vendor oversight, and SOW reviews.
- Familiarity with SAP Fiori, UI5, and mobility solutions.
- Incident resolution and root cause analysis across SAP functional areas.
Key Deliverables
- SAP functional designs, blueprints, and configuration aligned with enterprise transformation programs.
- Integration specifications across SAP modules and external systems.
- Documentation of business processes, functional specs, and test cases.
- Issue resolution and defect tracking with functional and technical teams.
- Participation in testing cycles (unit, integration, UAT) and cutover planning.
- Structured knowledge transfer to internal SAP teams and business stakeholders.

This 48-month onsite contract is central to the client’s enterprise transformation, ensuring that SAP solutions meet operational, regulatory, and strategic objectives. The SAP Functional Consultant will partner with business, operations, and technology teams to deliver optimized and compliant SAP-enabled processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and collaborative, with the ability to balance enterprise standards with business outcomes.
