ERP Functional Analyst, Level 3

We are Systematix and we are looking for an ERP Functional Analyst, Level 3 for an upcoming opportunity with a Federal Government department. The ideal candidate must already possess a security clearance at the Secret level (Level II) or higher.

About the Project

The Financial Planning and Analytics Solutions (SMIT) subdivision within the client’s organization is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of one SAP BW-IP installation and the related SAP Business Object applications on which the Financial Planning and Analytics (FP&A) Portal and Financial reports are based. Functional and technical support is being provided by SMIT (Finance) & SIC (Information Technology) to over 2800 FP&A Portal end users at HQ and missions throughout the world. The following SAP components are currently in use to support FP&A portal and financial analytics solutions: SAP Integrated Planning, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP Business Objects (Lumira &Analysis for Office), Power Bi. The scope of work for the resources needed includes providing front-end and back-end expertise and support the Financial Planning and Analytics Solutions (SMIT) subdivision.

About the Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, maintain and support SAP data models to support the development of reporting and dashboard solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, maintain and support metrics, scorecards, BI reports, stories and dashboards.
  • Analyze business requirements, user views, dimension and metric charts used to answer business questions.
  • Design Metadata elements containing common system elements, detailed calculations, data relationships, and element definitions.
  • Analyze existing reports, models, catalogues and cubes to identify common re-useable components and how they need to be changed to address user requirements.
  • Develop test strategies and test instructions, assemble specifications, diagrams, layouts and operating instructions to document applications for later reference and modification.
  • Perform Regression Testing.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot problems with the BI environment and processes.
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of programs, scripts, and configurations by testing them through system acceptance test runs (BI development tools).
  • Work closely with business analysts, data modelers, DBAs, and GAC technical infrastructure groups to ensure that the data delivery environment meets the users’ requirements.
  • Assist in the configuration and administration of specific BI tools; and
  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with internal resources.

About the Qualifications

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience working as an SAP Functional Analyst on SAP Business Intelligence/Business Warehouse (BI/BW) projects within the last fifteen (15) years.
  • A minimum of five (5) years SAP BI/BW experience working on a Federal Government of Canada department, agency or crown corporation project in Finance or HR.
  • A minimum of 12 months experience within the last 3 years providing functional expertise on projects that utilized SAP Integrated Planning or Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) as part of a planning (or forecasting) solution.
  • The resource must hold an SAP certification related to SAP BI or Netweaver.
  • Experience with a minimum of 2 projects within the past 10 years for a Federal Government of Canada department, agency or crown corporation in requirements gathering and business blueprinting (design) of an SAP BI/BW reporting & analytics.
  • Experience with a minimum of 2 projects in implementing an SAP Integrated Planning (IP) solution in a proof of concept or production environment in a Federal Government of Canada department, agency or crown corporation.
  • Experience in developing queries for the following SAP BI/BW modules or content areas: Funds Management(FM), General Ledger(GL), Special Purpose Ledger(SPL), Accounts Payable(AP), Accounts Receivable(AR), Salary Forecasting Tool(SFT), Controlling (CO), Sales & Distribution (SD), Project Systems(PS), and Materiel Management(MM).
  • Experience developing query definitions that include: cell definitions, Boolean logic, formula variables, exit variables, and row-set structures.
  • Experience with the following BOBJ related tools/functionalities: Lumira Designer, Translation Management Tool, Central Management Console, and BI Launchpad.
