Microsoft SharePoint Engineer (SPO Architect) – REMOTE
We are Systematix and we are looking for a seasoned SharePoint Online (SPO) Architect to fill a remote six-month+ contract position with our global consulting client. (Open to all residents of Canada or USA).
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
We are looking out for a an experienced SharePoint Online (SPO) Architect to lead the design, implementation and extensibility of our client’s SharePoint Online environment. In this role you will work closely with client stakeholders, developers, and administrators to ensure the SPO environment is scalable, secure and optimized.
Ideal candidates will be able to define and execute tenancy model (including security), performance, load and stress testing. This position requires a self-starter who is disciplined and able to work with little supervision.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in technical architecture design reviews
- Ability to stay current with SharePoint Online and other M365 development best practices and standards
Validation of SPO provisioning design and provide a quantitative understanding of how and when throttling will affect our solution and if/how to mitigate any negative impacts on user experience.
Contribute in a vital role in establishing SharePoint Online document management strategies
Assist with the migration of content from various sources to the SharePoint Online environment
General SharePoint Online administration – Site architecture, creation, and maintenance, permissions, external sharing, document handling, etc.
Develop and maintain SharePoint Online solution documentation related to configuration, user guides, FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions), etc.
Extending SharePoint Online functionality with forms, web parts, and application technologies
Support application development teams with SharePoint Online integration as needed
Ensure the stability of existing and new Power Automate-based integrations with other platforms and services, as well as the security and compliance to ensure company data is handled appropriately
Other duties as assigned
ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (minimum 3 years) in a technical field.
5 years of work experience in Office 365/SharePoint Online.
10 years working in an Information Technology department preferred.
Knowledge of SharePoint Online Security and Compliance related technologies including retention policies
Write and maintain custom scripts (PowerShell) to install new settings or deployments and remediate issues to support users. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with ability to present ideas and solutions in a user-friendly language.
Ability to be a team player and work with all levels of people in a highly collaborative environment.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to take initiative and move projects forward when faced with ambiguity.

This is a 6-month+ REMOTE contract position open to residents of Canada or USA. Strong possibility of extension based on performance.
