IBM DataStage Specialist (Change Data Capture for VSAM) – REMOTE
We are Systematix and we are looking for a IBM DataStage Specialist with IBM Change Data Capture for VSAM experience to fill a REMOTE 6-month+ contract position for one of our key clientele in the financial services industry. (Open to all Canada residents).
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Our client, one of Canada’s leading insurance providers, with regional offices across Canada, requires an IBM DataStage Specialist with IBM Change Data Capture for VSAM experience to convert a mainframe data feed from DB2/SQL Server SSIS to z/OS Change Data Capture (CDC) for VSAM. You will be working with the Data Project team, who require your DataStage skills to implement a new instance of DataStage, 11.7, as they are currently using 8.5, and need to upgrade the system for compatibility and feature requirements.
This role will require a seasoned hand to help ensure the ongoing operation of their systems, as all systems are in a production state. The data feeds will all be pulled from Mainframe instances, using Federation Classic Server or Change Data Capture.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure that data connectivity integrates properly from FCS and CDC, and jobs can be created.
Ensure that accurate scheduling and constant availability of jobs, tasks and services to consistently meet business expectations and service standards.
Manage system performance and capacity through active monitoring and analysis.
Other duties as required.
ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS

Strong (5+Years) experience with the operation and understandings of a z/OS, CICS, COBOL, VSAM and Db2 environment, including robust experience in the IBM Infosphere DataStage environment
Strong experience with the operations of a multi-platform environment AIX/UNIX/Linux, IBMi and Windows servers and command and scripting languages
SQL experience a plus
Demonstrated experience monitoring systems, applications and components
Experience operating in ITIL Framework for Change, Incident and Problem Management
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a 6-month+ contract position which can be done remotely reporting to management in downtown Toronto's financial district. Open to Canada residents, any time zone but who can preferably work Eastern time zone. Strong possibility of extension based on performance.
