Senior Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Consultant
We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a Senior Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Consultant to support a strategic enterprise resiliency initiative for one of our key clients.
ABOUT THE PROJECT Our client is a global leader in science and technology, supporting a diverse portfolio of businesses across healthcare, life sciences, diagnostics, manufacturing, and industrial innovation. As part of its ongoing commitment to operational resilience, the organization is undertaking a strategic initiative to strengthen Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BC) capabilities across its critical enterprise application landscape.
The successful consultant will join the Operational Excellence organization to assess, improve, and validate Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity capabilities across approximately 21 mission-critical enterprise applications. This role combines strategic advisory, governance, planning, and facilitation responsibilities, helping establish standardized recovery testing processes while enabling application owners to successfully execute recovery exercises.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and assess existing Disaster Recovery Plans for critical enterprise applications.
Develop Disaster Recovery Plans for applications where documentation is incomplete or missing.
Develop Business Continuity Plans for SaaS applications where traditional Disaster Recovery testing is not feasible.
Create standardized Disaster Recovery testing frameworks, methodologies, governance models, and best practices.
Design application-specific recovery testing scenarios, procedures, and validation criteria.
Facilitate Disaster Recovery planning workshops with application owners, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
Provide subject matter expertise on Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity strategies, testing methodologies, documentation standards, and operational readiness.
Coordinate Disaster Recovery testing activities across infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and application support teams.
Identify risks, gaps, dependencies, and improvement opportunities within existing recovery capabilities.
Document testing outcomes, lessons learned, remediation plans, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Support the parallel execution of Disaster Recovery testing across multiple enterprise applications.
Provide regular project updates, status reporting, and stakeholder communications throughout the engagement.
ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS
10+ years of experience in Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Enterprise Resiliency, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience developing, reviewing, and validating Disaster Recovery Plans for enterprise applications.
Strong knowledge of Business Continuity Planning methodologies and enterprise resiliency best practices.
Experience designing, coordinating, and facilitating enterprise Disaster Recovery testing programs.
Strong understanding of Disaster Recovery considerations for SaaS applications and cloud-based environments.
Experience supporting Microsoft enterprise technologies, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, and related platforms.
Knowledge of enterprise cybersecurity technologies, including CyberArk, CrowdStrike, identity governance, and authentication platforms.
Experience working within large, global enterprise environments.
Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional workshops and influence both technical and business stakeholders.
Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience supporting organizations within life sciences, healthcare, diagnostics, manufacturing, or other regulated industries.
Experience with enterprise platforms such as Workday, Microsoft enterprise technologies, finance applications, EHS systems, or identity and access management solutions.
Knowledge of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity frameworks such as NIST, ISO 22301, or similar standards.
Experience developing enterprise testing standards, governance models, and operational procedures.
Experience leading enterprise resiliency or operational continuity transformation initiatives.
ABOUT THE ROLE This is a contract opportunity supporting a strategic enterprise Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity initiative. The role may be performed remotely within North America; however, candidates must be willing to work collaboratively across North American and European time zones and participate in virtual workshops and stakeholder meetings as required. The successful consultant will serve as the organization's Disaster Recovery subject matter expert, providing leadership, practical guidance, and proven methodologies while helping internal teams execute a comprehensive application recovery testing program and achieve critical resiliency objectives.
