{"id":6223,"date":"2026-10-02T13:25:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-02T18:25:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/systematix.com\/opportunity\/senior-network-engineer-2\/"},"modified":"2026-10-02T13:25:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T18:25:09","slug":"senior-network-engineer-2","status":"publish","type":"opportunity","link":"https:\/\/systematix.com\/fr\/opportunity\/senior-network-engineer-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Senior Network Engineer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a <strong>Senior Network Engineer \u2013 Routing, Switching &amp; SD-WAN<\/strong> to design, implement, optimize, and support enterprise network infrastructure for one of our key technology partners.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE PROJECT<\/strong><\/span><\/span><br \/>Our client operates a large, globally distributed enterprise technology environment requiring reliable, scalable, and highly available connectivity across corporate locations, data centres, cloud environments, and external service providers.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>As part of the Network Engineering team, the Senior Network Engineer will focus primarily on enterprise routing, switching, WAN, SD-WAN, and site connectivity. The successful candidate will bring deep Cisco networking expertise along with strong knowledge of routing protocols, resilient WAN architectures, VPN technologies, and cloud connectivity.\u00a0 This is a senior, hands-on engineering role that will include both project-based engineering and Tier 3 operational support across a complex enterprise network.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design, implement, configure, and optimize enterprise routing solutions using BGP, OSPF, VRF, route redistribution, route filtering, and routing policies.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Design, deploy, and maintain WAN, internet, colocation, and site connectivity across global locations.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Engineer and troubleshoot IPsec VPN, Quality of Service, high-availability, and cloud connectivity solutions.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco IOS-XE routers and Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching platforms.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Support resilient enterprise routing and switching architectures across data centre, office, WAN, and cloud environments.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Support SD-WAN technologies and ongoing network modernization initiatives.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Evaluate network performance and recommend improvements to availability, resiliency, scalability, performance, and supportability.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex routing, switching, WAN, VPN, and connectivity incidents.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Participate in an on-call support rotation as required.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Develop and maintain network diagrams, routing standards, configuration templates, operational procedures, and technical documentation.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Collaborate with Network Security, Cloud, Infrastructure, Operations, service providers, and business stakeholders.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Work with carriers and technology vendors to troubleshoot connectivity and service issues.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Contribute to network automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.<\/span><\/span><\/ul>\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&apos;s degree or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Strong hands-on experience designing and supporting complex enterprise networks.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Deep knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VRF, route redistribution, route filtering, and routing policy.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Extensive experience with Cisco IOS-XE routers and Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching platforms.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Strong experience designing and troubleshooting resilient WAN architectures.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Experience with IPsec VPNs, Quality of Service, high-availability architectures, and carrier circuits.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Experience with network authentication and access technologies, including Cisco ISE, TACACS, RADIUS, and 802.1X.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Experience with networking within Microsoft Azure and\/or AWS.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Strong understanding of enterprise routing, switching, WAN, and network connectivity principles.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical capabilities.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Ability to diagnose complex network issues across multiple technologies and environments.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Strong technical documentation skills.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Ability to work effectively with technical teams, service providers, and business stakeholders.<\/span><\/span><\/ul>\n<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with Palo Alto ION SD-WAN.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and network security technologies.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Experience with Zscaler.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Experience with F5 LTM and\/or Cloudflare.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Experience with Python, Terraform, or other infrastructure-as-code and network automation technologies.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Experience with DNS, DHCP, and Infoblox.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Familiarity with VMware and Linux environments.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>Experience supporting complex, global enterprise networks.<\/span><\/span>\n<li>\u00a0<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE<\/strong><\/span><\/span><br \/>This is an initial 6-month remote contract opportunity with the potential for extension based on ongoing business requirements.<\/span><\/span><br \/>Candidates for this position must be based in the United States. Eastern or Central Time Zone candidates are preferred, although candidates located farther west may be considered based on experience and fit.<\/span><\/span><br \/>The role may require occasional travel, with convenient access to Boston, Cleveland, and Washington, D.C. being beneficial.
