ABOUT THE PROJECT:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our client is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to support Ontario Cybersecurity Higher Education, working directly with universities and colleges across Ontario. This role combines strategic cybersecurity advisory services with hands-on operational support, helping member institutions strengthen their cybersecurity posture, improve governance, manage risk, and enhance incident preparedness. This is an excellent opportunity for a cybersecurity professional with experience in Ontario\u2019s higher education sector who enjoys collaborating with diverse stakeholders and supporting community-wide cybersecurity initiatives.<\/p>\n

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n

In this role, you will support participating universities and colleges with cybersecurity programs, roadmaps, risk management activities, and security initiatives. You will work closely with institutional stakeholders, security teams, and industry partners to deliver cybersecurity guidance, facilitate knowledge sharing, and strengthen security capabilities across the\u00a0community.<\/p>\n

REQUIREMENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Must-have:
\u2022 5+ years of experience in Cybersecurity and\/or Information Technology
\u2022 Direct experience supporting a university, college, or higher education institution in Ontario
\u2022 Experience with cybersecurity governance, risk management, and security program development
\u2022 Working knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) and CIS Controls
\u2022 Experience conducting security assessments, risk assessments, or security control reviews
\u2022 Experience supporting incident response, recovery planning, and security operations activities
\u2022 Strong understanding of cybersecurity threats, attack methods, threat actors, and emerging trends
\u2022 Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or equivalent experience<\/p>\n

Nice-to-have:
\u2022 CISSP or other relevant cybersecurity certification
\u2022 Experience conducting tabletop incident response exercises
\u2022 Experience with penetration testing, red teaming, or security validation activities
\u2022 Knowledge of cloud technologies and technical security controls
\u2022 Experience developing cybersecurity presentations, webinars, or educational content
\u2022 Familiarity with ITSM processes including Incident, Change, and Service Request Management<\/p>\n

ABOUT THE ROLE:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Location: Hybrid flexible\u00a0\u2013 Ontario
Duration: 6-month contract-to-hire
Start date: ASAP
Work hours: 37.5 hrs\/week<\/p>\n

PAY DISCLOSURE:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The average hourly pay range for this field is as follows:\u00a0 \u00a0$50\u2013$55\/hr
This role is intended to convert to a full time, permanent role, following the initial contract engagement<\/p>\n

Compensation is commensurate with these standards; exceptions may apply based on experience, skills, and market conditions.<\/p>\n
