Senior ServiceNow Developer (ITSM & ITOM)
We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a Senior ServiceNow Developer (ITSM & ITOM) for our life sciences client.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Our client is a global life sciences organization undertaking a large-scale ServiceNow transformation across multiple regions and operating companies. As part of a global initiative to modernize and standardize IT Service Management (ITSM), the organization is implementing ServiceNow as its enterprise platform for core ITSM capabilities while expanding its IT Operations Management (ITOM) footprint.
The Senior ServiceNow Developer (ITSM & ITOM) will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise ServiceNow solutions that extend beyond core ITSM into ITOM capabilities including Discovery, CMDB, CSDM, Service Mapping, and infrastructure integrations. Working closely with Enterprise Architects, Business Analysts, Platform Teams, and Infrastructure teams, you will deliver scalable, secure, and highly integrated solutions that improve operational visibility, automation, and service delivery across the enterprise.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Senior ServiceNow Developer (ITSM & ITOM), you will lead the development and configuration of complex ServiceNow solutions while providing technical expertise across both ITSM and ITOM capabilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and infrastructure requirements into scalable technical solutions while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, platform governance, and ServiceNow best practices.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications, workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, and automation across both ITSM and ITOM modules
- Design, build, and support core ServiceNow modules including Incident, Problem, Major Incident Management (MIM), Change, Request, Service Catalog, Knowledge Management, CMDB, CSDM, Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management
- Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise monitoring, infrastructure, cloud, and third-party platforms using REST APIs, SOAP web services, IntegrationHub, and MID Servers
- Design, deploy, administer, and optimize MID Server architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability
- Support CMDB strategy through development of data models, relationships, reconciliation processes, and CSDM alignment
- Collaborate with Enterprise Platform teams and Solution Architects to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and ServiceNow platform governance
- Translate business and operational requirements into scalable technical designs and implementation plans
- Perform advanced platform administration activities including security configuration, ACLs, roles, groups, and Service Portal administration
- Develop and execute unit testing while supporting system integration testing, regression testing, and quality assurance activities
- Troubleshoot complex platform, integration, and infrastructure issues while identifying opportunities for optimization and automation
- Produce and maintain technical documentation including solution designs, configuration records, integration specifications, and operational procedures
- Apply ITIL principles, ServiceNow best practices, and enterprise governance standards to improve service delivery and platform performance
- Identify opportunities to expand automation, improve operational efficiency, and enhance platform capabilities through continuous improvement initiatives
ABOUT THE QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience within large enterprise environments
- Strong experience developing solutions across both ServiceNow ITSM and ITOM modules
- Hands-on experience implementing Discovery, CMDB, CSDM, Service Mapping, and Event Management
- Experience designing, deploying, and supporting MID Server architecture and integrations
- Advanced proficiency with JavaScript, Glide APIs, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and ServiceNow development best practices
- Strong experience developing integrations using REST APIs, SOAP web services, cloud connectors, and enterprise integration technologies
- Solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, networking, and monitoring technologies
- Experience supporting ServiceNow platform administration, security, ACLs, roles, groups, and governance
- Strong understanding of ITIL principles and enterprise service management practices
- Experience participating in Agile software development methodologies
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across globally distributed technical and business teams
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification is preferred
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification is preferred
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Discovery (CIS-Discovery) or other ITOM certifications are considered a strong asset
- ITIL Foundation certification is considered an asset
ABOUT THE ROLE
Location: Remote (UK/Europe)
Duration: 6-month contract with a high likelihood of extension
Work hours: Full-time, aligned to UK/Europe business hours
